Integrated Energy enable safer, more valuable operations and projects, which are better for the people working on them and the environment around us.We do this by providing a better way of working considering people, process, organisation, technology and the physical working environment.

We are an independent group of experienced professionals who provide consulting services in hydrogen and renewable energies, integrated operations, and digital health. Our bases are in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, New Zealand, Europe, and US, providing a global service. We currently are engaged in hydrogen related projects with a value exceeding $30 billion and connect clients, customers and capital to enable high impact sustainable economic projects worldwide.

Our people

David Cavanagh (Managing Director)

David is a recognised global expert in integrated operations and digital transformation across the full resource value steam, with a proven track record in consulting assessments which have identified tens of billions of dollars of value for his clients around the world, while also saving and enhancing lives. David brings three decades of energy and resources experience, with locations spanning six continents, and even into space. With a background in medicine and engineering, his practice brings together psychology, technology and architecture, so people can work better together.

A global client list in energy includes INPEX, Conoco Phillips, Woodside, Santos, BP, Shell International, Exxon, ADCO, Petronas, Oil Search, QGC, and Lukoil; in resources and processing Rio, Newcrest, OCP; in technology IBM and Baker Hughes; clean energy startups,
a leading space agency, as well as governments and universities in three countries. He is the author of several publications including SPE papers and a book for Shell, a course which has been delivered in six countries and three languages, and chairs global conference streams.

David founded Integrated Energy Pty Ltd to enable safer, more valuable operations and projects, which are better for the people working on them and the environment around us. Integrated Energy do this by providing a better way of working which considers people, process, organisation, technology and the physical working environment, and have won innovation awards for their work in LNG and Floating LNG in Australia. This involves designing and implementing new business models, with forward looking technology, and hence David and his company already have ten years experience in areas such as augmented reality and drone operations.

Ross McAdam (Principal Consultant)

Ross McAdam has over thirty years of IT experience where he has worked across many industry sectors with major international companies in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US and Norway where he has demonstrated a record of delivering business focussed outcomes. He primarily works in the natural resources sector where he has undertaken a number of engagements with INPEX, Woodside Petroleum, Rio Tinto and BHP Iron Ore. As part of a major greenfields upstream oil and gas development, he worked extensively in the Enterprise Architecture discipline, an enterprise planning and governance methodology designed to maximise organisational efficiency. He has a special interest in Enterprise Architecture and Business Process Management as effective frameworks to realise business strategy. He jointly managed and participated in a special interest group in Business Process Management which attracted many local, national and international speakers. He holds a Bachelor of Business in Information Processing.

Dr. Robert K. Perrons (Principal Consultant)

Dr. Robert is an associate Professor of Technology Management and Strategy as well a technical adviser to several energy and resource sector technology startups across the globe. He has worked in a wide variety of roles and locations for Shell International’s Exploration & Production division and has written extensively on the topic of innovation in the oil & gas sector.

He started his career in Shell’s Strategy & Economics team in 1997, and then worked for several years as a production engineer in the company’s overseas operations (offshore and onshore). He then left Shell for three years to work as an Industrial Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, but re-joined Shell again in 2004 to become the company’s Executive Coordinator of R&D. He has a B.Eng. in mechanical engineering from McMaster University in Canada, a Master’s degree in Technology & Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a PhD in engineering from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar. He is a Fellow of both the UK’s Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Engineers Australia, and is chartered as a Eur. Ing. in Europe.

Rob has formed part of the integrated energy team for projects including LNG upstream asset management, and he recently worked on a project with Intel with emphasis on blockchain in the E&P sector. He also served as a keynote speaker at the United Nations in Geneva last May 2019.

Dr. Andrew Marsh (Principal Consultant)

Dr. Marsh is an architect, design consultant, academic and software developer. He has worked on many performance-driven building projects around the world and authored a wide range of technical and analytical design software that is now used internationally in both education and practice.

Andrew studied architecture at the University of Western Australia in Perth and received his doctorate there. He has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom as an environmental analyst, performative design consultant, university lecturer, research fellow, software engineer and company director. He co-founded a software development company which was subsequently acquired by Autodesk, where he worked for a number of years on simulation and analysis in BIM. Andrew was the original author of Ecotect (which became Autodesk Ecotect Analysis), is creative director of the Natural Frequency Journal and regularly contribute articles and research papers at international conferences and in other journals.

Greg Brown (Principal Consultant)

In particular, he has been selecting, designing and deploying ECM and related solution for 15 years across Asia Pacific. He has performed project director roles as well as governance roles with Steering Committees / Project Boards on some of the largest deployments in the APAC region. He has worked on both sides of the ECM System selection process and is uniquely placed to provide high level strategic advice, in particular, around ECM projects. He also has specific knowledge of the engineering, construction and operation (including transition to operations) phase of large asset projects

Greg was formally trained as a Chartered Accountant after completing a Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Finance, from the University of Western Australia.

Kasia Kondas (Principal Organisational Consultant)

Kasia is an experienced human capital and OD leader in the mining and resources sector with 8 years international experience and 20 years in HR management, organisational development and project management/consulting across Australia, Europe and South Africa in resources, manufacturing and financial services with Thiess Australian Mining, Deloitte in Australia and Central Europe and Daimler Chrysler/Mitsubishi. She has an extensive track record in providing transformation services to clients such as Rio Tinto and others in resources and energy, higher education and the WA Government. She established and ran a successful international business focused on culture transformation, leadership, capability development and internal communications. Lead roles in Deloitte and Daimler Chrysler global transformation projects. Change management leader for Asia-Pacific. Kasia’s focus is on people, organisation and culture and leading transformation programs to improve effectiveness and profitability and to develop business capability. Kasia is a registered psychologist in Australia and holds a masters degree in Commerce (International Management). She has also completed her transformational leadership training with Mt Eliza Business School and is a member of the Institute of Company Directors.

Jobin Jose (Project Operations Consultant)

Jobin is a project operations consultant at Integrated Energy. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering , Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and Master’s in Project Management. He has a proven track record handling multiverse engineering projects. Well adapted to developing and fostering professional relationship. As well as recognition for project management skills from Planning phase to Commisioning Phase, Execution, Facility Management and Maintenance.

Julia Berjamin (Design and Data Consultant)

Julia is a design and data consultant at Integrated Energy. She holds a bachelor degree in Geography the with skills in spatial data analysis, geo-database management, and qualification in Building Design. Her experience includes working on an operations support centre design for a major energy operating company.

Angin Mathew Varghese (Integrated Operations Consultant)

Angin is an integrated operations consultant at Integrated Energy. He has a degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering. His experience includes working on an integrated energy project for development of the Operations future state and associated road map for a major gas operator.

Pushpa Gurung (Integrated Operations Consultant)

Pushpa is an Integrated Operations consultant at Integrated Energy. She has a degree qualifications in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Her experience includes working on an integrated energy project for development of the Operations future state and associated road map for a major gas operator.

Mike Ulster (Integrated Energy Americas Director)

Mike is a senior energy executive with 40 plus years of experience in the Energy sector. His career has encompassed from individual performer to senior-level corporate executive across:

Working experiences have included locations in the US (offshore and onshore) and multiple international assignments in the UK, Middle East, Australia, West Africa, Southeast Asia, Central America, Caribbean Islands, Canada and Mexico.

He is recognised for his global expertise in creating and delivering sustainable performance excellence across diverse

settings, developing and leading strategic and tactical world class organizations, and in crisis and risk management.

Prof Michael Small (Integrated Energy Principal Modelling Consultant)

Undergraduate and doctoral degrees in pure and applied mathematics from the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, WA, Australia. After postdoctoral experience in Stellenbosch and Edinburgh, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2001-2011). In 2011, he was the recipient of Australian Research Council Future Fellowship and in 2012 was made Winthrop Professor of Applied Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, UWA. Since 2015 he has held the UWA-CSIRO Chair of Complex Engineering Systems. He is Editor of the journal Chaos and Associate Editor of International Journal of Bifurcations and Chaos. His research interests include complex systems, complex networks, chaos and nonlinear dynamics, nonlinear time series analysis, and computational modelling.

Cameron Ferstat (Integrated Energy Principal Technology Consultant)

Cameron is a global leader with hands-on expertise in cloud architecture,

solution design and delivery, client engagement, on-site project management, and driving problem resolution for key customers in critical situations. He is passionate about leveraging innovative technologies to craft and deliver solutions that exceed expectations, and an inspiring team leader who places high value on coaching and mentoring individuals.

He has more than 25 years experience in large scale system design in

Australia, USA and the Middle East. He was the lead architect and webmaster for the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, the Sydney 2000 Olympics Games, and IBM’s other event web sites including the Grand Slam tennis tournaments. He project managed the implementation of the largest HPC system in the Middle East and architected numerous other large-scale system implementations for clients in the Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. He regularly presents at conferences and has patents for Internet and web content management inventions. Cameron was elected to the IBM Academy of Technology in 2010.

Cameron leads the technology solutions for Integrated Energy, consulting for organisations in the Energy and Education sectors on Information

Technology/Operational Technology integration and convergence, and leading the adoption of collaboration technologies, operational VR and cloud hosting solutions.

Orlando Porras (Integrated Energy Senior Design Consultant)

Orlando holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. 6-year relevant practical experience in construction project management, building information modelling, building services, digital engineering, data management, and integrated operations design management for mining, oil & gas companies.

Proficient knowledge of building services engineering and project management, integrated sustainability, green performance, and collaborative environments. Effective knowledge and application of building information modelling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Navisworks, as well as proficient use of geographic information systems (GIS), and relevant integration and collaborative techniques.

Monica Deoghare (Integrated Energy Energy Consultant)

Monica holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Design and Diploma in Automobile Engineering. She has three years experience as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. As well as this, she has published more than eight research papers in International journals and conferences. Her key skills are AutoCad, CreO, Solidworks, Ansys, and HomerPro.
